Practices·Heart

By “heart” we mean emotion — and emotions are not secondary to the inner life. They are among the most direct expressions of the energy body’s state. When the emotional body is open, there is aliveness: joy, love, genuine connection, the capacity to give and receive freely. When it is closed or numbed — as it is for many people — there is a flatness that no amount of outer activity can fill.

The practices of this lever work directly on this dimension. Emotion and the energy body are deeply linked. What you feel is not merely a mental event — it is a movement in the energy body itself. Fear contracts the channels. Grief hardens them.

Gratitude and love open them, allowing the life force to flow more freely and saturating the inner experience with a quality of sweetness that has nothing to do with outer circumstances. This is why the heart lever is one of the most transformative available.

By learning to work with emotions — feeling them fully, transmuting them, consciously holding specific emotional states, and ultimately choosing the quality of your inner experience — you reshape the energy body at a foundational level. The outer world does not need to change for this to happen. It happens from within.

The practices that follow move in a deliberate arc — from the most accessible, learning to feel safe enough to open, through to the deepest, the recognition that the lover and the beloved are one. Every step is a genuine practice, complete in itself.

01

Heart Coherence

The baseline practice of the Heart lever — creating a state of biological safety and inner calm by directing the breath and attention to the heart centre and actively generating a feeling of genuine appreciation.

02

Emotional Presence

feeling through

The practice of digesting difficult emotions completely rather than suppressing or being overwhelmed by them. Meeting what is present in the emotional body with full, non- judgmental attention until it moves and releases.

03

Holding Love as Vibration

Rather than directing love at someone or something, you learn to inhabit it as a self-generated state — consciously choosing to immerse yourself in the feeling of love by deliberate inner attention.

04

Loving-Kindness

Metta Bhavana

A systematic practice of extending compassion and goodwill outward in concentric circles — from yourself, to those you love, to strangers, to those who have caused you pain, and finally to all living beings.

05

Giving and Receiving

Tonglen

A practice of breathing in suffering and breathing out relief — the deliberate opening of the heart to what it would normally close against. It develops compassion, empathy, and selflessness by training the heart to be receptive to the pain of others and saturated enough with goodness to give freely in return. At its core it softens and dissolves the hardened heart, allowing it to enter a state of natural flow — giving and receiving, freely and without reservation.

06

Ecstatic Chanting

devotional alchemy

Using melody, repetition, and fierce emotional intensity to override the analytical mind and open the heart completely. It does not matter what name or form you sing to — Jesus, Shiva, Mary, Krishna, Mother Earth. These are simply bridges to the Infinite. The practice depends entirely on the intensity of your devotion — transforming the heavy, gravity-bound energy of human longing into the liberating force of divine love.

07

Surrendering

the ultimate practice

Quieting the overthinking mind and calming the nervous system by surrendering completely to the present moment — to what is, and to the flow of life. An inner shift where one drops all striving, drops the need for things to be different, and begins simply allowing. The complete release of resistance.

08

Non-Dual Devotion

falling in love with life

Falling in love with life itself — not as a religious act directed at an external deity, but as a profound, loving recognition that you are an expression of the very life you revere. The path of pure love where the Lover, the Beloved, and the act of loving dissolve into one continuous flow of presence.

09

Prayer

the inner command (Sankalpa)

Moving beyond petitionary begging — beyond the desperate asking of a separate, frightened self. The recognition that the consciousness looking out of your eyes is the exact same unconditioned intelligence that beats your heart and sustains the cosmos. Therefore, prayer is not an external request. It is an internal command.
