Energetic Body + Emotional Body
5 practices
Written by Desmond Olubunmi · Founder of Sunya
Sound is the most universal inner technology in human history. Across every tradition, in every era and culture, human beings independently discovered that intentional sound transforms the inner state: the Om of Hindu practitioners, the Gregorian chants of Christian monks, the Dhikr of the Sufis, the ceremonial drumming of indigenous peoples. The outer forms differ entirely. The inner mechanism is the same.
The body is largely composed of water, and water conducts sound far more efficiently than air — which means the entire physical system is deeply, immediately responsive to vibration. Sound is not an abstraction; it is a direct physical technology.
When used intentionally, specific sounds and frequencies physically reorganise the cells and channels, dissolve energetic knots, calm the nervous system, and create coherence throughout the whole inner structure.
The practices of this lever fall into two modes: active vocalization — chanting mantras and toning — which generates the vibration from within, and conscious listening, which allows curated external sound to do the work. Both converge on the same result: a cleared, coherent, open energy system.
the elemental vibration
Attuning the individual back to the universal through the primordial sound of AUM. The use of pure, unconditioned vibration to harmonise the body, quiet the mind, and purify the energy system.
the blueprint of the infinite
The ultimate affirmation of your true identity. Shifting from the illusion of the finite, lacking self into the direct realisation of Absolute Existence (Sat), Pure Consciousness (Chit), and Unconditioned Bliss (Ananda).
surrendering to the formless
The ultimate act of disidentification — dissolving the illusion of the finite, separate self and bowing to the infinite, formless consciousness that is the true ground of being.
the radiant awakening
Invoking the supreme, unconditioned intelligence of Life to illuminate the mind — dissolving the fog of the conditioned self by flooding inner space with the pure light of consciousness.
Deep listening — recognising that listening is not a passive act but an active force that continuously shapes the inner system. The practice of using curated sound to reorganise the nervous system, lower resistance, and unblock the energy body so life force flows freely.
