Adi Mudra

A grounding, stabilising seal — the primordial hand position of the human being.
This is the first hand position of the human being — the natural fist the fetus makes in the womb, before any conditioning has entered. Closing the hand into a fist in this way draws the energy of the extremities inward and downward, creating a sense of
rootedness and safety in the body. It quiets restlessness and settles scattered energy.
Tuck the thumb into the palm and wrap the four fingers over it, forming a loose fist. Rest the fists on the thighs, palms facing down. Use during meditation when the energy feels scattered or the body feels unsteady.
Occasional writing on the levers, the practices, and how to actually work with them.
